Door Styles
-
Single Doors are hinged on the left or right side and can swing in or out of the home.
-
Double Doors combine two doors into one unit.
-
Double doors can have a vertical post in the middle which both doors close and latch on to. These doors provide extra security, but prevent the entire space from being clear, which is a hinder when moving large objects in or out of the home.
-
French Doors are double doors which open from the center. Usually, one side remains stationary unless it is unhinged from the ceiling or floor.
-
-
Center-Hinge Doors use the space of a double door, with one stationary side. The other side is opened from the left or right side, as opposed to the middle like in a double door.
-
Sliding Doors are great for entering onto decks or porches, especially if you have limited space on the interior for a swinging door. The surface space of sliding doors is almost entirely glass, so you get the best view and the most sunlight.
Door Materials
-
Wood is traditionally the most common door material, although it can be prone to warping and splitting. Wood is the most expensive material and requires the most maintenance. Wood entry doors delivers an elegant hand-crafted look.
-
Fiberglass doors can complement almost any home with the variety of styles available – including those designed to look like wood. Fiberglass doors are durable, well-insulated, and easy to maintain. Fiberglass is more expensive than steel, less expensive than wood and can last for as long as you own your home.
-
Steel doors are the most economical option and offer slightly better security than wood or fiberglass doors. Steel doors are prone to dents, which can be very expensive to repair. Steel doors also have a relatively short lifespan under normal conditions, and even shorter if subjected to seasonal heavy rains.

“Just wanted to reiterate how happy we are with all of the work your team performed at our house. As you may recall, our six sliding glass doors were very, very difficult to open. Your team was on time, efficient, polite and neat. They repaired all of the doors, and we are thrilled with the way things turned out. We may, in fact, wish to have them come back again to make some additional improvements, and just wanted you to know. Best regards,”
